Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Client Acquisition

  • Identify and approach potential clients in target communities.

  • Promote microfinance products such as microloans, group loans, savings, and insurance.

  • Educate potential customers about the benefits and responsibilities of borrowing.

2. Loan Processing

  • Conduct field visits to assess the creditworthiness of applicants.

  • Collect and verify necessary documentation (ID, proof of residence, income details, etc.).

  • Assist clients with loan applications and ensure accurate data entry.

  • Submit applications to the credit team for approval.

3. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and community leaders.

  • Regularly follow up with borrowers to ensure timely repayments.

  • Address customer complaints or concerns promptly.

4. Loan Monitoring and Collection

  • Monitor disbursed loans through field visits.

  • Ensure repayment schedules are followed.

  • Handle delinquent accounts through follow-up visits and recovery strategies.

5. Group Formation (where applicable)

  • Organise borrowers into groups (e.g., Joint Liability Groups or Self-Help Groups).

  • Conduct group training sessions on loan terms, financial literacy, and repayment responsibility.

  • Facilitate group meetings and monitor group dynamics.

6. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate field visit reports, loan tracking sheets, and collection records.

  • Update client data regularly in the MFI’s system.

  • Report field insights, risks, and feedback to supervisors.

7. Market and Competitor Analysis

  • Gather information about local economic activities and competitors' offerings.

  • Suggest product or service improvements based on field insights.

8. Compliance and Ethics

  • Ensure that all operations are conducted following regulatory and institutional guidelines.

  • Uphold ethical standards and transparency in all client interactions.
